Once you go to a fashion show, it's like eating popcorn, you just cannot eat one. So here I am in Jerez, at another fashion show. Jerez is much closer to home, tha Seville, so it was easy to gather a group of friends to accompany me. The show is known as "Pasarela Flamenca", it is sponsored by Mercedes Benz and held at Gonzalez Byass Bodega, or better known as Tio Pepe bodega.

This is fun, the seating is very limited and the models are very close. You can really see the details of the dress. The catwalk is built in a wine seller with thick musty walls, dirt floors, and a slight perfume of sherry in the air. It was still cold outside, and it was raining, but people were there, all waiting to see the show.
Got tickets for designer, Carmen Acedo on Friday night, and for Sunday morning I had free tickets for the Noveles or new talent. No contest here, Carmen Acedo's experience and attention to detail won hands down. Her dresses were crafted beautifully and in such good taste, while the Noveles, trying to make up for the lack of experience, where much riskier, had sloppy craftsmanship and most of the design ideas did not work. Still, it was fun to watch. Plus there were some designers, winners from SIMOF show. These have the potential to become great designers.

Hair and ornaments:
Hair is still worn up but more relaxed with messy buns. As a friend put it, "it looks like they slept in the bun and then put the flower on their heads". This is great news since this is how my hair dos look like when I do them myself. Ha ha!
Flowers have changed a lot too, every year they have been getting bigger and bigger until we all looked like a satellite dish. This year, it was popular on all runways to have little bunches of flowers instead of a big one. Or have a big Hydrangea or antique rose (looks more like a peony)
